Hello everyone! Hope you have all been doing well! This has been a good week, so many miracles! Heavenly Father is seriously in the small details and is always reminding us that this is His work!
Last Monday we were able to go to Bali (A little island) for P-day and that was so awesome! We took a little electric carriage around; it was so fun and pretty!
Tuesday, we had a big miracle, we were just chilling in Starbucks and a lady (her name is June) came up and asked if she could sit with us, and then we started teaching a little and set her on date to be baptized! She wants it on her birthday, which is like next year, but we'll work on it ;) she doesn't actually live in our area, so we'll have to pass her off but still! Heavenly Father, what a champ! Just dropping people into our laps!
Wednesday, we went down to Taipei for interviews, and we also got to do a church tour with June which was really good! That night we had our English group and we only had members there, but that's alright it's all good! It was fun!
Thursday, we had a lesson with a guy (also at Starbucks) who also wanted to be baptized! We also have to pass him off to the Elders though but still awesome, miracles at Starbucks! Then we had a really big lunch at a member's, and then we went to Taipei for exchanges! I exchanged with Sister Leong from Singapore. She is super awesome! We did a church tour which was good. Also, I've never done an overnight exchange so that was fun! They had six sisters in the apt haha, but I was the only foreigner.
Friday morning, we played ultimate Frisbee and then we exchanged back and helped out with the mini MTC youth activity in Taipei! It was really fun, we did a street contact activity and got to do the English Challenge with them! The sisters who were with us were naturals, and my job as the only 外國人 was to hold the board and ask the questions so that was nice :) I also met a Taiwanese guy who served his mission in Minnesota so that was a tender mercy! Afterward we went back to Danshui and ate at a lost sheep's house whose wife isn't a member and that was fun!
Saturday we were called saying a member's husband was in the hospital, and asking if we could go to be with her and help comfort her. It was okay! I couldn't do much to help but the Elders were able to come and give her a priesthood blessing as well. For lunch I ate hotpot for the first time with the Bishop's family! It was good, I burned my mouth many times haha. After that we had the PCC activity and taught our friend 陳弟兄!
Sunday, we got to eat with some members which was fun!
Monday, we got to have hot pot with some recently returned Sister missionaries which was fun! My p- day got moved to Tuesday since we went to the national museum with our zone. It's been a good time!
Spiritual thought for the week: One thing that another Sister told me this week that really stuck with me is that Heavenly Father will never have a negative thought about us. Even though his stubborn daughter Sister Jensen can never seem to be satisfied with what she has, even if He gave her what she wanted, He will never be frustrated with us. He realizes we are trying to be better, and when we are trying, He is proud of us. Every single day I am more and more amazed at the sheer magnitude and selflessness that is found in the character of the Father and Jesus Christ, and His Atonement. He knows that life is hard, but He will enable us. Don't ask for the Lord to change your circumstances. Ask him to give you the strength to change your circumstances. This is what the Atonement of Jesus Christ does for you, and for me, and for us. Because of Him, we will make it. Because of Him, we are filled.
Other fun updates:
-My comp gave me a Chinese full name! It is 江柔安 (Jiāng róu ān)!
-Shoutout to my friend Amanda from Eau Claire who got baptized this weekend! I got to watch over zoom :) so excited for her!!!
-I was just told today that for our Christmas concert my mission president requested that I play Mary, so that's super cool! It'll be with pictures and recordings kind of like in the temple. I'm super happy and excited about it!
Thank you for those of you who actually read this! You're champs :)
